About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join our team at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and crisis intervention services to individuals with serious mental illness and complex physical health issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determining client occupational performance goals through standardized and non-standardized assessments
- Providing ongoing assessment, consultation, coordination, implementation, outreach, and evaluation for clients referred by interprofessional team members
- Developing and implementing individualized and group treatment/rehabilitation plans
- Clinical supervision and assigning service components to support staff
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required; Master's Degree/Clinical Masters preferred
- Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and current professional association registration (OSOT, CAOT)
- Minimum 2-5 years experience in OT interventions in an outpatient mental health setting
- Registered/certified as an authorizer with the Assistive Devices Program or willing to obtain
