We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our team at CMHC. This is a temporary position of 12 months, offering an estimated annual salary of $80,000 - $110,000 based on the national average for this role in Canada.

About the Role:

This exciting opportunity involves preparing financial reports and reconciliations to support the Corporation's quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements. You will analyze financial information, identify trends, and provide timely and accurate reports to external divisions and other areas within Finance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations, reports, and notes to assist with the preparation of the Corporation's quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements.
  • Identify and interpret financial information that supports accounting and reporting activities pertaining to investment portfolios, pension plan, and overall corporate performance.
  • Maintain timely and accurate accounting records, including the preparation of accounting entries and reconciliation between systems, subsystems, and reports.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field such as accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in relevant financial, legislative, and regulatory environments.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage several ongoing and competing projects.
  • The ability to function in a sophisticated technological environment using tools such as spreadsheets, databases, and applications as well as consolidation and reporting tools.
