Occupational Therapist

Trillium Health Partners is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our innovative First Responder Mental Health Program.
As an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to first responders referred from the WSIB. You will collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health clinicians, and kinesiologists to develop individualized treatment plans that support clients' functional recovery.
This unique program focuses on evidence-based practices and emphasizes returning clients to full function while minimizing impairment and disability. Your expertise in occupational therapy will be instrumental in guiding clients towards successful rehabilitation and reintegration into their communities.
Your Responsibilities:- Participate actively in interprofessional assessments to identify psychological impairments and recommend appropriate treatment and return-to-work strategies.
- Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions as part of a collaborative team, utilizing your clinical skills and knowledge of trauma-informed care.
- Engage in interdisciplinary rounds to discuss complex cases and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive clinical reports that support case management and facilitate effective communication with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external partners, including insurers and employers, to ensure a seamless transition for clients as they progress through the program.
- Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario is essential.
- Minimum three years of clinical experience working with adults experiencing common mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
- Solid understanding of prolonged exposure therapy and other trauma treatment modalities.
- Proven ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in managing diverse tasks and priorities.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement and evaluation within the program.
