Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our Financial Services team at Hamilton Health Sciences. As a Financial Services Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely billing of patient services, as well as the recovery of missed revenue.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor WSIB patient activity and recover missed billing
  • Analyze rejected accounts to understand the reason for rejection and take corrective action
  • Review new WSIB registered patients and ensure that registrations related to the injury have been billed correctly
  • Educate HHS Clinical Staff on the impact of WSIB revenue on budgets and financial performance
  • Prepare reports for leadership to identify recovered revenues and questionable recoveries
Requirements
  • Accounting and/or business education diploma or equivalent experience and financial services experience
  • 3 years of Hospital Clinical experience
  • Patient registration experience
  • Medical Terminology and ability to discuss medical services and reports to all levels of WSIB staff
  • Strong ability to review patient charts and identify areas for billing improvement
  • Proficiency in Meditech Admitting and BAR Modules, Sovera, PACS, Telus Emergis Website, OHIP and WSIB Schedule of benefits
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present information to small or large groups
