As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing and interpreting ultrasound examinations, working closely with our medical team to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and interpret ultrasound examinations, including vascular repair techniques and ankle-brachial and toe-brachial indices.
  • Work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of equipment and computer systems, including PACS, to acquire and process data for patient studies.
  • Assess patient needs and ensure completeness of diagnostic procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare team members, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an approved program of study in Medical Ultrasound and registration or registry eligibility with ARDMS or Sonography Canada.
  • Registration with the CMRITO and maintenance of good standing.
  • CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and PACS.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for scanning and transducer manipulation.

Working Conditions:

This is a permanent, part-time position, working a variety of shifts as per our schedule. The successful candidate will be required to work within the physical demands of the role, including constant standing and walking, and heavy physical effort such as lifting and positioning patients and operating equipment.
