About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiological Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care while operating radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures requiring the use of ionizing radiation, applying the ALARA principle, while continuously remaining responsive to and responsible for each patient in their care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic or therapeutic procedures using radiological/accessory equipment
  • Apply the ALARA principle to minimize radiation exposure
  • Provide patient-centered care and maintain a safe and respectful environment
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate records

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Previous experience in Diagnostic Imaging is an asset
  • Qualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality is an asset
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision
  • Physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
