Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team at Niagara National Golf and Country. As a key member of our grounds team, you will be responsible for maintaining the beauty and integrity of our outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with landscape constructions and installations
  • Tie and secure plants, trees, and other vegetation
  • Weed, prune, and trim trees and plants to maintain their health and appearance
  • Cut grass and maintain lawn areas
  • Rake and collect refuse, including leaves and other debris
  • Remove litter and garbage from outdoor spaces
  • Cart and spread topsoil and other materials as needed
  • Lay sod or seed to maintain healthy turf
  • Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees to enhance the beauty of our outdoor spaces
  • Apply fertilizers and other treatments to promote healthy plant growth
  • Repair and maintain equipment used for grounds maintenance
  • Write daily progress reports to track your work and identify areas for improvement
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens to ensure their health and well-being
  • Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and other tools
Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in grounds maintenance or a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient work
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and work in a variety of weather conditions
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling to perform tasks
  • Steel-toed safety boots and other personal protective equipment as required
