Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Niagara National Golf and Country. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the golf course and surrounding grounds, ensuring they are well-manicured and visually appealing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with landscape constructions, including planting, pruning, and trimming trees and plants.
  • Tie and secure plants, ensuring they are properly secured and safe from damage.
  • Weed, prune, and trim trees and plants to maintain their health and appearance.
  • Cut grass and rake and collect refuse to keep the grounds clean and tidy.
  • Remove litter and garbage, and cart and spread topsoil and other materials as needed.
  • Lay sod or seed, and plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees to enhance the grounds' appearance.
  • Apply fertilizers and repair and maintain equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
  • Write daily basic progress reports to keep management informed of work completed.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with tight deadlines.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling as required.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity. They will be required to wear steel-toed safety boots and follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
