Distribution Optimization Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Distribution Optimization Advisor to join our team at Enbridge. As a key member of our distribution planning group, you will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing the hydraulic system models for assigned regions of our gas distribution system.
Key Responsibilities- Update, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of hydraulic system models assigned to you.
- Analyze and forecast short and long-range distribution system operating and infrastructure requirements under varying conditions for all regions within our distribution system.
- Examine, design, and analyze the effects of various system alterations on system integrity and reliability, and propose new or altered infrastructure or plans as needed.
- Provide consultation to internal groups, such as Stations Engineering, Operations, Gas Control, Construction, Asset Management, Integrity, Sales, etc.
- Evaluate impacts to the system when new customer connections or customer growth are identified, and incorporate short-term and long-term customer additions targets into the forecast analysis.
- Support the Supervisor and Senior Engineer/Advisor in DOE, Capital Development, and other teams for large reinforcement projects that require Leave to Construct (LTC) regulatory applications.
- Develop contingency plans and network impact reports as required to ensure system reliability and minimize system disruption to support emergency response.
- Participate in emergency on-call support for field forces to respond to system emergencies that may occur anywhere across our entire gas distribution system.
- Related university degree and 4+ years of experience (engineering preferred), or 6+ years of previous field operations experience. An equivalent mix of formal education and experience may be considered.
- Detailed knowledge of various computer software programs, including Microsoft Suite.
- Detailed knowledge of the Design & Records, Operation & Maintenance, and Construction policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate effective working relationships with peers and internal/external customers.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Certified Engineering Technician/Technologist is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in system hydraulic analysis methods (i.e., Synergi) is desired.
- Project planning and project management skills are an asset.
- Previous experience in an Oil and Gas Operations and/or Engineering environment is highly desired.
- Proficiency with GIS, Maximo, SAP, planning, and records experience is an asset.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license.
This role requires emergency on-call support for field forces to respond to system emergencies that may occur anywhere across our entire gas distribution system. Emergency response is covered on a 24-hour, 7-day rotating schedule.
