Job Title: Sr Advisor Strategic Financial Evaluations

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr Advisor to join our Gas Distribution Services (GDS) team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing the feasibility of Integrated Resource Planning (IRP) investments for the business and supporting the associated IRP financial and regulatory planning activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with business owners to manage IRP projects at various stages, ensuring the Company's IRP performance objectives are met.
  • Support the ongoing calculation of IRP incentives, including the development of supporting evidence.
  • Build and maintain comprehensive financial models for new IRP projects, incorporating integrated financial statements, standardized evaluation metrics, and relevant tax, financing, accounting, and regulatory considerations.
  • Determine and assess key project inputs and drivers, ensuring they are realistic, consistent, and defendable.
  • Prepare evidence and interrogatory responses for submission to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) for IRP and Rate and Facilities Applications/Hearings.
  • Participate in industry working group discussions and conduct analyses and studies of industry best practices.
  • Support the GDS and Corporate project approval process through the preparation of standardized materials and detailed review of financial models.
  • Prepare reports and documentation to satisfy all regulatory reporting requirements and internal decision records.
Requirements:
  • University Business degree with a specialization in Finance (MBA, CPA, or similar) from a nationally recognized program.
  • 7+ years of experience in business valuations and/or capital investment analysis.
  • Strong discounted cash flow modeling skills and a sound understanding of accounting, tax & finance.
  • Highly developed competencies in oral/written communication, strategic thinking, business acumen, interpersonal skills, persuasion and influencing, and prioritization.
  • Experience in a rate-regulated industry preferred.
