Magellan Aerospace is a global aerospace company seeking a skilled Employee & Labour Relations Specialist to join our team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This full-time permanent position reports to the Human Resources Manager and is responsible for providing strategic and operational labor relations advice to all levels of management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide coaching and counseling to managers and supervisors on performance management, attendance management, conflict management, and other workplace issues.
  • Offer labor relations advice, guidance, support, and direction to management teams.
  • Prepare and present company positions in the grievance and arbitration process.
  • Participate in the Company Union Contract Negotiating Committee(s).
  • Manage non-standard work arrangements and requests.
  • Develop and implement initiatives in support of human rights at Magellan, including policy development, investigations, and monitoring plans.
  • Lead and coordinate activities related to Magellan's Joint Human Rights Committee (Unifor).
  • Stay current on trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in human resources and employment law.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources.
  • Interest in pursuing accreditation or continuing education courses to support relevant job duties.
  • A minimum of 3 years of ELR experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial/labour relations, communications, and applicable HR legislation is essential.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive matters.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time management and negotiation skills.
