About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to provide technical leadership and integration across various CMC products within the R&D Digital Tech. The successful candidate will be responsible for line management and mentorship of up to 10 GSK software engineers, guiding their professional growth and skill development. Additionally, the role will involve overseeing up to 30 third-party engineering contractors, ensuring effective collaboration and project alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and integration across various CMC products within the R&D Digital Tech.
  • Line management and mentorship of up to 10 GSK software engineers, guiding their professional growth and skill development.
  • Oversee up to 30 third-party engineering contractors, ensuring effective collaboration and project alignment.
  • Partner with other GSK Digital Tech teams, product owners, GSK business teams, vendors and strategic partners to deliver value continuously, fostering and maintaining close links with customers.
  • Champion DevSecOps, Agile, and modern software engineering practices, ensuring the implementation of these methodologies to optimize project delivery and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in leading tech teams and shaping tech strategy.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with effective stakeholder management.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern software engineering with hands-on experience in full-stack development (ideally,.net, JavaScript, SQL, python) and a solid grasp of CI/CD practices.
  • Working knowledge of Azure cloud services and infrastructure.
  • Solid experience with Agile and DevSecOps principles.
  • Proven ability in API design and integration of COTS applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in working in regulated environments.
  • Experience in building AI-powered solutions.
  • Experience with data pipelines and tools like Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Experience with data visualization and PowerBI.
  • Experience in building application with low code platform such as Mendix.
