Job Summary

Emterra Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance and repair team, you will be responsible for performing various maintenance functions, including greasing and replacing bearings, replacing, tracking and lacing conveyor belts, operating power tools, and troubleshooting and repairing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating equipment, and replacing worn or damaged parts.
  • Operate power tools, such as drills, sawzalls, and cutting torches, to perform maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, including conveyor belts, grinders, and screens.
  • Clean and maintain work areas, including under conveyor belts, OCC separators, and baling areas.
  • Navigate touchscreens for optical sorters, container lines, fiber lines, and glass plants.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to ensure proper and safe operation of the plant.
  • Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Observe safe work practices and follow company safety policies.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in performing maintenance and repair work.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to work independently and take direction.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or more.
  • Post-secondary mechanical technology an asset.
