Job Summary
Emterra Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing various maintenance functions to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as greasing and replacing bearings, replacing conveyor belts, and operating power tools.
- Change filters, troubleshoot, and repair equipment such as glass plant primary and secondary grinders and screens.
- Clean under conveyor belts, OCC separator, glass breaker screen, and around the baling area.
- Navigate touchscreens for optical sorters, container line, fiber line, and glass plant.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to ensure proper and safe operation of the plant.
- Ensure work area is clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Observe safe work practices.
- Perform heavy lifting and pulling as required.
- Complete courses on forklift, snorkel lift, fall protection, and confined space entry.
Requirements
- Previous experience in performing maintenance and repair work.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Ability to work independently and take direction.
- Proven mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work bent over for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, push, and pull and lift up to 50 lbs or more.
- Post-secondary mechanical technology an asset.
