About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Trench Group. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and guidance to our business units, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Negotiation and Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents to protect the company's interests.
  • Legal Support and Guidance: Provide expert legal advice and guidance to our business units, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Corporate Affairs: Manage all corporate affairs of Trench Group, including corporate governance and compliance.
  • External Partnerships: Manage engagement of external law firms and other external partners.
  • Training and Development: Design and deliver legal training to our business units to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills to operate effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: A university degree in law with a focus on contract or business law.
  • Qualifications: Qualified to practice law in Canada; additional legal experience in the US is an asset.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages, especially Portuguese, is an asset.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of in-house experience, ideally at an industrial manufacturing company.
  • Skills: Entrepreneurial mindset, high level of communication and facilitation skills, intercultural competence, and deep understanding of business and economics.
