Event Manager Job Description
Strauss event & association management is seeking an experienced Event Manager to oversee the planning and implementation of in-person events and virtual events. As an integral member of our team, you will blend your event management and sales expertise to deliver exceptional customer service and exceed client needs and attendee expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with clients to plan and coordinate events, identifying their needs and expectations.
- Estimate costs and determine event budgets, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Oversee all event details, managing timelines, budgets, and logistics to ensure seamless event execution.
- Plan and execute virtual and hybrid events, leveraging your technical expertise to deliver engaging experiences.
- Manage event logistics, including accommodations, food and beverage, meeting room setup, audiovisual, and program production.
- Ensure compliance with all insurance, legal, and health & safety obligations, maintaining a safe and secure event environment.
- Provide clear, well-written reports to stakeholders, showcasing the success of each event.
- Manage a team of volunteers, ensuring their effective utilization and motivation.
- Monitor and analyze event performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions.
Requirements:
- Minimum five years of experience in event management, including conferences, trade shows, and signature events.
- Previous experience in event or hospitality sales, with a proven track record of success.
- Experience implementing marketing plans, driving event attendance and engagement.
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in a related field, such as hospitality, marketing, or business administration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel and Outlook.
- The ability to speak French is an asset, enhancing your communication with French-speaking clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong business relationships and communicate effectively with diverse groups.
- Superior customer service skills, with a proven ability to deliver exceptional experiences and exceed client expectations.
- Resourceful and comfortable with ambiguity, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
- Strong prioritization, organizational, and time management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to craft clear, concise reports and presentations.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong willingness to collaborate and support colleagues.
- Must be able to travel out of the province 15-25 days per year or as required, with a flexible approach to work arrangements.
