Lactalis Canada is seeking a visionary Senior Director, Packaging to spearhead our North American Strategic Procurement team. As a key member of the leadership team, you will develop and implement short- and long-term purchasing strategies that drive best-in-class results in people, processes, costs, and supply.

This critical role requires a seasoned leader with a minimum 15 years of experience in purchasing environments within packaging categories. Your expertise should include SAP or similar business systems, French language proficiency (an asset), and a strong understanding of the milk, yogurt, cheese, and food packaging industries.

The ideal candidate will possess strategic, tactical, and analytical skills, with the ability to influence others towards a common objective. You will also be responsible for developing and managing best-in-class purchasing policies, processes, systems, tools, training, and auditing.

In this role, you will:

  • Purchasing Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive procurement plans, ensuring compliance with company requirements.
  • Packaging Category Management: Oversee purchasing for various defined business units across the United States and Canada.
  • Supply Chain Excellence: Foster collaborative relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality products.
  • Budgeting and Cost Optimization: Analyze spending patterns, identifying areas for reduction without compromising quality or business continuity.
  • Global Strategy and Negotiation: Support corporate global procurement initiatives, providing market intelligence and negotiation support at the local level.
  • Team Development: Lead a high-performing team of purchasing professionals, focusing on talent development, performance feedback, and stretch objectives.
  • ESG Commitment: Contribute to Lactalis Canada's ESG roadmap, promoting sustainability and social responsibility throughout the organization.

We offer a competitive base salary of $140,000 - $160,000 per annum, plus a performance-based bonus system, benefits starting day one, and a pension program with an employer match at 100% of up to 6%.
