We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill a tenure-stream position in the area of Forensic Psychology at the University of Toronto.
About the PositionThis is a full-time appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.
Key Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses in Forensic Psychology, including lecture preparation and delivery, curriculum development, and development of online material/lectures.
- Conduct research in Forensic Psychology, with a focus on the forensic application of behavioral science, including forensic clinical evaluation, risk assessment, psychological interventions, and socio-psychological determinants of crime.
- Develop and maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
- Collaborate with tri-campus departments and pursue cross-appointment at the graduate level to a relevant department.
- Provide evidence of research excellence, including a record of sustained high-impact contributions and publications in top-ranked and field-relevant journals.
- Teach and mentor students from underrepresented groups, and demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- PhD degree in Psychology or a PsyD (or equivalent) degree from an American Psychological Association-accredited or Canadian Psychological Association-accredited (or equivalent international) doctoral program.
- Demonstrated record of excellence in both research and teaching, with an emphasis on the forensic application of behavioral science.
- Experience working in a forensic clinical setting, or as an independent forensic consultant, with a proven record of casework, court testimony, or similar practices.
- Teaching expertise in a degree-granting program at the undergraduate level, including lecture preparation and delivery, curriculum development, and development of online material/lectures.
- Established international reputation and a commitment to sustaining and leading innovative and independent research.
