Health Care Social Worker

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a skilled Health Care Social Worker to join our team. As a Health Care Social Worker, you will provide a diverse range of interventions to clients and their families, enabling them to achieve their optimal level of functioning and health.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting psychosocial assessments and providing adjustment therapy, supportive therapy, crisis counselling, resource counselling, and discharge planning and case management.
- Advocating, educating, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
- Supervising undergraduate and graduate students in work placements.
About You
We are looking for a licensed professional with a Master's degree in Social Work from a recognized university and current registration with the NSCSW. You will have 2 years of related clinical experience and knowledge of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
Key qualifications include:
- Ability to reach a joint formulation with the client and family.
- Demonstrated experience integrating various psychotherapeutic approaches.
- Advanced psychotherapy skills, including in brief therapies.
- Ability to complete mental health assessments using DSM formulations.
