About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Stores Clerk to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. The successful candidate will assist in the organization, coordination, and control of inventories and supplies in support of healthcare services throughout Western Nova Scotia.

The Stores Clerk will work closely with the Supply Chain Logistics Manager to ensure the efficient delivery of supplies to various sites in Western Nova Scotia. This role requires excellent planning, organizational, and priority-setting skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of computer software and programs, including SAP, and previous experience in a central stores/purchasing environment. Knowledge of inventory control and materials management is also an asset.

This is a long-assignment, full-time position with a salary range of $21.91 - $24.17 hourly. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

About You
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing education programs
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with a variety of computer software and programs
  • Demonstrated planning, organizational, priority-setting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment and also effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills as well as leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of the SAP computer system is preferred
  • Previous experience in a central stores/purchasing environment preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory control preferred
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of and current relevant experience with computer
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role of Materials Management Service in the delivery of patient care and understanding of how errors may affect medical treatment and cause financial loss
  • The ability to travel to multiple Nova Scotia Health facilities within Eastern Zone for Supply Chain related responsibilities
  • Travel to other sites required
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
