Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Educational Program Assistant to join our team at Harry R. Hamilton Elementary. As an Educational Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational programs and services for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the implementation of educational programs and services for students with diverse needs.
  • Provide support to teachers and other educational staff in the delivery of educational programs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Support students with personal care needs, including toileting and personal hygiene.
  • Assist with the use of assistive technology to support student learning.
  • Provide behaviour management support to students, including de-escalation strategies and pro-social skills training.
Requirements
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Experience working with students with autism and other diverse needs.
  • Related diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution, including a formal practicum placement.
