Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join our team at Medicentres Canada Inc. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting our billing process, including Ontario physician payment and OHIP billing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide billing support and training to physicians, ensuring they are up-to-date on the latest billing procedures and regulations.
  • Review and assist newly hired physicians in completing required documentation for credentialing and enrollment with OHIP group billing.
  • Identify trends or patterns in coding errors or billing discrepancies and recommend process improvements or corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and implement automated algorithms to continuously monitor physician billing habits and provide communication plans to physicians.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes to billing rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with provincial health standards.
  • Meet with individual physicians to discuss opportunities to improve billing and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Communicate billing changes and updates to physicians and operations teams.
  • Provide backup support for vacation coverage, focusing on physician payroll, WCB claim submission, and third-party invoice processing.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Experience and understanding of OHIP billing is required.
  • Basic understanding of healthcare billing methods is considered an asset.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Software.
  • Professional and mature approach to customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills and aptitude in numbers/statistics.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize project work.
  • Aptitude for understanding databases, system flows, and processes.
Education/Certifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in finance or a related field.
