Job Title: Educational Assistant - Jordan's Principle Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team at Lethbridge School Division. As an Educational Assistant, you will work closely with students who require targeted and specialized supports to effectively participate in their learning community.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting students with their academic tasks, implementing strategies to support socially appropriate behaviors, and attending to physical and medical needs. You will work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized programs and Positive Behavior Support Plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with academic tasks and adapt materials to meet their needs
  • Implement strategies to support socially appropriate behaviors and promote positive relationships
  • Attend to physical and medical needs of students, including lifting and transferring
  • Monitor progress and report to teachers and other support staff
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized programs and Positive Behavior Support Plans
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or General Educational Development (GED) diploma
  • Proof of police information check and Intervention Record Check
  • Valid Social Insurance Number
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
