We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Conestoga Meats. As a key member of our Health, Safety and Wellness department, you will be responsible for providing support in all areas of HSW, driving continuous improvement in all departments, and leading various projects to enhance our health and safety culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legislative reviews and advice to ensure compliance with OHS regulations
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments, risk assessments, and hazard assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Develop and implement wellness initiatives to promote a healthy and safe work environment
  • Lead site expansion projects, ensuring all legislative requirements are addressed and implemented
  • Facilitate the Company's Early and Safe Return to Work Case Management Program
  • Enhance and promote a strong team and health, safety & wellness culture
Requirements
  • Post-Secondary Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Health and Safety Specialist in the food or manufacturing industry
  • Thorough knowledge of OHS regulations, CSA, Human Rights, and WSIA
  • Strong organizational skills, project management skills, and ability to work well under pressure
