Job Summary:

MPE Engineering Ltd. is seeking a skilled Automation Specialist to join our team in Edmonton. As an Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for PLC and SCADA programming, commissioning, and networking configurations. The ideal candidate will have a diverse background in automation and control system planning, design, control narrative generation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming experience with various automation software and hardware
  • Ability to travel for maintenance and commissioning tasks
  • Availability for emergency support of PLC, SCADA Systems, and related communications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Licensed or eligible for licensing or certification with APEGA/ASET
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Background in electrical & instrumentation systems
  • Experience with municipal & industrial process systems
  • Experience with industrial networking & cybersecurity
  • Experience working as a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years combined experience in related positions to the above qualifications.
