Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher and Installer to join our team at EDJ Real Estate Investment Inc. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall in commercial and residential settings.

Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for installation.
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces to ensure durability.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to specifications.
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency.
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
Requirements
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, physically demanding, and working at heights.
  • Ability to work in a dusty and noisy environment.
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) weight handling capability.
  • Reliability, dependability, and team player skills.
