Beem Credit Union, a leading financial institution in BC, is seeking a highly skilled VP of Information Security to join its team. With a strong focus on security and risk management, this role will play a critical part in protecting the organization's digital assets and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive information security strategy, aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of security controls, including access management, encryption, and incident response.
- Collaborate with IT, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure effective security measures are in place to mitigate threats and vulnerabilities.
- Monitor and analyze security-related metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide expert guidance on security-related matters, ensuring that business leaders and stakeholders are informed and aligned with security strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and trends, ensuring that the organization remains proactive in its security posture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in information security, with a strong background in security protocols, system architecture, and compliance standards.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective security strategies, with a focus on risk management and mitigation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Experience with agile methodologies and practices, with a focus on fostering agility and responsiveness in infrastructure operations.
