Role OverviewThe General Practitioner – Oncology (GPO) plays a crucial role in our Cancer Care Program, working closely with a dynamic team of six Medical Oncologists and three Hematologists. The GPO is responsible for delivering comprehensive medical care, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients with cancer and suspected oncological conditions.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination in the delivery of comprehensive oncology and palliative care services
- Diagnose and develop treatment plans considering patient history, test results, and cancer stage
- Prescribe medications, therapies, and supportive care tailored for individual patient needs
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
- Demonstrated clinical excellence and outstanding interpersonal skills
- Relevant certification from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada
- Membership in the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario and a valid OHIP billing number
As a physician at Humber River Health, you will enjoy a competitive salary range of $350,000 - $450,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
