Electrical Project Manager

Mazzei Electric is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team in Kelowna, BC. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects from inception to conclusion. This includes optimizing resources and ensuring overall financial performance on all projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining strict adherence to industry and company safety standards.
  • Supporting and promoting Mazzei Electric's core values of Safety, Innovation, Relationships, and Trust.
  • Engaging in business development activities to grow Mazzei Electric's market share in the region.
  • Developing and coordinating schedules, resources, and project tracking and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Controlling costs and maximizing productivity through the implementation of best practices and standard processes.
  • Coordinating change management and maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Participating in progress meetings and working with the Site Superintendent and Project Foreperson to oversee contracts and budgets.
  • Providing technical knowledge and expertise to project administrators and managing financial aspects of projects.
  • Obtaining permits and licenses from authorities and overseeing pre-construction meetings.
  • Determining needed resources and collaborating with prefabrication and design departments.
  • Setting clear goals and expectations and providing coaching and counseling for employee growth and development.
  • Planning construction operations and scheduling intermediate phases to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Evaluating progress and preparing detailed reports.
  • Estimating change orders and managing all jobs closeout procedures.
  • Conducting post-project reviews to determine areas for future improvement.
  • Developing and maintaining a network of professional relationships within the industry.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical Journeyperson certification and/or past electrical project management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within the construction industry.
  • Proficient in project administration and management tasks, including RFIs, submittals, change order management, and progress billings.
  • Excellent knowledge of industry products, practices, and standards.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize a high workload.
  • Superior IT skills, including a strong working knowledge of industry-specific software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and experience managing contracts and budgets.
