Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Substation Project Engineer to join our team at ICES: Data, Discovery, Better Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the design and execution of station-related projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review project scopes, budgets, and schedules, and monitor progress to implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate project delivery.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all engineering work adheres to client safety standards, environmental policies, and quality assurance protocols.
- Prepare and present technical reports and project documentation to management and stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and stakeholder consultations to ensure alignment and clear communication.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve engineering processes and project outcomes.
Requirements
- Must be a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering Degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering within the utilities or energy sector, with a focus on substations or power systems.
- Strong understanding of regulatory codes and standards, including CSA, NESC, and ANSI / IEEE.
- Proven experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Compensation
The compensation for this role is an hourly rate, Independent Contractor or Employee Hourly, $50-80/hour DOE.
