Auberge du Pommier is a fine dining restaurant located in the heart of the city, offering an exceptional culinary experience to its guests. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to join our team.

Job Summary

The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring that all aspects of the business are running smoothly and efficiently. This includes managing the front and back of house staff, controlling costs, and maintaining high standards of service and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the front and back of house staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation
  • Control costs and maintain budget records
  • Ensure high standards of service and quality are maintained
  • Work closely with the events and private dining team to ensure successful events
  • Resolve conflicts and implement changes as necessary
  • Estimate food and beverage consumption and place orders with suppliers
  • Maintain employee records and prepare payroll
  • Avoid legal challenges by following company and government legislations
  • Arrange for maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Develop managers and employees through training and development
  • Create an engaging and energetic work environment
  • Generate growth and sales through marketing initiatives

Requirements

  • Over 5 years of experience in fine dining as a General Manager
  • Experience in a similar environment
  • Self-starter, flexible, and able to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task and change priorities constantly
  • Ability to conduct written and verbal performance reviews
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Management, or equivalent
