Underground Mining Specialist

Cementation Canada is seeking a highly skilled Underground Mining Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient development of underground mines.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect and Prepare Underground Workplaces: Conduct thorough inspections of underground headings to ensure a safe working environment and identify potential hazards.
- Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely operate a range of heavy equipment, including MacLean Bolters, Scoops, Dump Trucks, Jumbo, and shotcrete sprayers, to perform tasks such as scaling, drilling, cutting, and welding.
- Install Rock Bolts and Services: Install rock bolts, spin cables, and screens using MacLean Bolter and handheld drills to ensure the stability of underground structures.
- Maintain a Safe Working Environment: Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with other crew members to create a synergy required to accomplish shift line-ups and maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
- Pre-Employment Qualifications: Possess a valid Basic Underground Common Core certification, a minimum of 2 years of related work experience, and a valid CWB certification.
- Skills and Knowledge: Possess WHMIS, Fall Arrest, First Aid Certification, and Working at Heights certifications.
