The Role: Patient Services Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering services related to patient support programs offered by McKesson Specialty. This involves interacting with patients, insurance companies, pharmacies, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to explore and obtain coverage for prescribed medications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Timely enrollment of patients into patient support programs
- Liaise with patients, insurers, and physicians regarding documentation required for maximum reimbursement coverage
- Conduct information and patient financial assessment eligibility based on program guidelines
- Provide responses to general inquiry calls based on information provided as part of program materials
- Coordination with specialty and retail pharmacies to ensure patient access to required treatment
- Proactively monitor patient files to ensure timely reimbursement and financial assistance renewals
- Process documents supporting patient care, including infusion reports, lab results, copays
- Receive, record, and report adverse events as per pharmaceutical manufacturer requirements
- Participate and assist in departmental continuous improvement activities related to process, quality, training, etc.
- Meet service levels in case management, including telephone answer rates, time to initial contact with patients
Requirements:
- Typically requires 5+ years of related experience
- Experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or insurance industry would be an asset
- Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving skills required
- Comfortable working in a contact center environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel)
- Team player
- Post-secondary education or equivalent
- Organized with high attention to detail
- Flexibility in working rotational or variety of different hours (hours of operation are 8 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday)
Career Level - IC Business Support - B4
Our base pay range for this position is $46,100 - $76,800. We offer a competitive compensation package as part of our Total Rewards, determined by performance, experience, and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets.
