About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Transit Driver to join our team at First Student Shared Services. As a Transit Driver, you will be responsible for safely driving and maintaining the appearance of our buses, providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation to our passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive a transit vehicle in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner throughout the contracted service area.
- Maintain a strong attendance record and perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required.
- Assist passengers with wheelchairs or other mobility aids and secure them properly.
- Notify dispatch of any deviations, accidents, or mechanical issues.
- Complete and submit written reports concerning passengers and accidents.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Class BZ or CZ driving license, clear driver abstract, and background check.
- First Aid certification and transit experience an asset.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rotating shift hours and days assigned.
- Subject to wet, cold, and/or hot environmental conditions.
- Subject to vehicle noise and vibration while operating the transit vehicle.
