Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Datacenter Security Professional to join our team at Securitas Inc. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a unique blend of technical expertise, physical stamina, and excellent communication skills.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the security and safety of people and property in assigned data centers. This will involve observing and reporting activities and incidents, supervising the use of wand and metal detectors, service enhancement, and training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the security and safety of people and property in assigned data centers.
  • Observe and report activities and incidents.
  • Supervise the use of wand and metal detectors.
  • Provide service enhancement and training.
Requirements
  • Valid Security license.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid Certificate.
  • 1 year of security experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a reliable means of communication, such as cell phone.
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).
  • Must have the legal right to work in Canada.
  • Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.
  • Must have a high school diploma, secondary education equivalent, or GED.
  • Must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
Competencies
  • Knowledge of security operations and procedures.
  • Knowledge of supervisor practices and procedures.
  • Skill in staff supervision, including assigning work and providing training and discipline.
  • Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.
Working Conditions and Physical/Mental Demands

This role requires the physical and mental capacity to effectively perform all essential functions. The demands of the job include:

  • Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
  • May be exposed to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals who are in or approaching an unauthorized area.
  • May be required to work overtime without advance notice.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for long periods of time or up to 12 miles of distance.
