Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Pet Valu. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for coaching and developing your store team to deliver exceptional customer service and help pet owners find the right products for their pets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all customer service standards are met by staff and maintain positive relationships with the community, including local animal welfare organizations.
  • Manage a team of employees, including recruiting, scheduling, training, and day-to-day task assignment, supervision, and coaching.
  • Ensure that all staff adhere to company standards and procedures.
  • Coordinate order placements, maintain inventory levels, and ensure store audits and safety audits are completed.
  • Coordinate efforts of store staff to achieve targeted results.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service and retail store management experience.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and growth in the pet care industry.
  • Possess a friendly and outgoing personality with strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and evenings.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the store.
  • Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively.
