Prepress Technician Job Description

Newprint is seeking a skilled Prepress Technician to join our team. As a Prepress Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the flawless preparation of printing jobs for production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Job Preparation: Prepare printing jobs for production, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Job Handling: Handle jobs related to flats with dieline and die-cutting, books and multi-page signatures, and flexographic for roll-to-roll printing.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize extensive knowledge of XML, PDF, Color, Dot Screens, and other technical languages for prepress operations.
  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrate superior expertise with Adobe products, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the production team to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of projects.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Prepress Technician in a fast-paced printing environment.
  • Job Knowledge: Proficient in preparing various types of printing jobs, including flats, books, and flexographic printing.
  • Software Skills: Exceptional knowledge and proficiency in Adobe products, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Cost Calculation: Ability to calculate the cost of production between various output devices to meet tight deadlines.
  • Imposing Applications: Experience with working with Imposing applications such as Tilia Labs, Prinect, Metrix.
