Job Title: Prepress Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Prepress Technician to join our team at Newprint. As a Prepress Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the flawless preparation of printing jobs for production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare printing jobs for production, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Handle jobs related to flats with dieline and die-cutting, books and multi-page signatures, and flexographic for roll-to-roll printing.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of XML, PDF, Color, Dot Screens, and other technical languages for prepress operations.
- Demonstrate superior expertise with Adobe products, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign.
- Imposing and creating colour separations and plate output to achieve exceptional print quality.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of projects.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Prepress Technician in a fast-paced printing environment.
- Proficient in preparing various types of printing jobs, including flats, books, and flexographic printing.
- Exceptional knowledge and proficiency in Adobe products, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign.
- Experience with imposing and creating color separations and plate output.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Ability to calculate the cost of production between various output devices to meet tight deadline.
- Experience with working with Imposing applications such as Tilia Labs, Prinect, Metrix.
