Our mission is to provide high-quality medical home supports to over 200 family physicians and their patients, promoting coordinated, quality care and access to appropriate resources for clients.
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Ambulatory Psychiatrist to join our PCN, working closely with family physicians to assess, treat, and manage patients' mental and/or behavioural health concerns in a consultative model of care. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will utilize evidence-based practice to develop positive working relationships/partnerships with other EOPCN healthcare team members and clinical support team members, promoting coordinated, quality care and access to appropriate resources for clients.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide short-term consultation services for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, stress and trauma-related disorders, sleep-wake disorders, substance use & concurrent disorders, and personality disorders.
- Use a variety of resources, including patient interviews, support person(s), electronic medical records, and Netcare data, to obtain information about medical, social and environmental history affecting mental health and wellbeing.
- Develop treatment plans and interventions tailored to individual patient needs, utilizing evidence-based practices and best available research.
- Prior experience working with vulnerable populations is an asset.
- Ability to manage medical IT systems – EMR, Netcare, medical and pharmacological databases.
- Standard First Aid – Level C certification.
- Free access to/use of EOPCN central clinic space/consult rooms at Mira Health Centre location.
- Full-time services: Monday to Friday between the hours of 8AM to 4:30PM (37.5 hours per week).
- Part-time services: 5 hour workdays per month.
- Casual services: 5 hour workday per month.
- An estimated salary range of $175,000 - $225,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
