About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at Bodwell High School. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our school buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors, as well as cleaning windows, walls, and ceilings.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaning machines, polishing machines, and other equipment to maintain the school's facilities.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Make minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Waste Management: Empty trash cans and other waste containers, and clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
  • Supervision: Supervise other workers and work with minimal supervision.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Conditions: Work under pressure, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, bending, crouching, kneeling.
  • Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
