The Healthcare Centre seeks a skilled Nurse to provide professional registered nursing services for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. Key responsibilities include independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, leadership within the healthcare team, and facilitating patient care and discharge. The ideal candidate will possess a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/facility/unit.


Requirements:



  • Minimum of two years recent acute nursing experience, with preference given to those with pediatric experience.
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.
  • Maintenance of registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) is essential.
  • Active participation in professional associations, such as the Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM), is preferred.
  • CPR Training at the Health Care Provider Level is required.

Key Qualifications:



  • Knowledge of College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses and Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) and Regional/Facility/Unit policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Nursing care knowledge related to clinical area, Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Protection of Persons in Care Act, Mental Health Act, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), and Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize care for an individual patient or group of patients.
  • Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.

The successful applicant must demonstrate medication calculation competency during orientation as per Children's Hospital Policy No. 100.30.109.
