About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join our team at RGZ Cambridge Inc. as a key member of our construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for installation, including walls, ceilings, and floors.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and provide a durable finish.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists, ensuring a sturdy and level installation.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry, ensuring a seamless finish.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages, requiring a high level of physical fitness and attention to safety protocols.
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms to facilitate safe and efficient work.
  • Perform routine maintenance jobs, such as painting and drywall repair, to maintain the integrity of our buildings.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a fast-paced construction environment, requiring adaptability and a strong work ethic.
  • Stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel to perform tasks, and lift heavy materials.
  • Work in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve project goals.
  • Meet tight deadlines and work under pressure to ensure projects are completed on time.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall finishing or a related field.
  • Ability to work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials.
  • Dependability, flexibility, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
