About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join our team at RGZ Cambridge Inc. As a Drywall Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finish on our drywall installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for drywall installation, ensuring a dust-free environment.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and maintain a professional finish.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife, ensuring a seamless finish.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets, ensuring accurate measurements and precise cuts.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists, maintaining a safe and stable working environment.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry, ensuring a smooth finish.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound, maintaining a professional finish.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms, maintaining a safe and stable working environment.
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair, ensuring a high-quality finish.
Work Environment

As a Drywall Finisher at RGZ Cambridge Inc., you will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a large workload. You will be required to work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, and in a variety of locations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in drywall finishing or a related field.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a large workload.
  • Ability to work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, and in a variety of locations.
  • Dependability, flexibility, and reliability.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
