Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and bilingual Disability Case Manager to join our team at Sun Life Financial. As a Disability Case Manager, you will be responsible for managing disability claims to resolution, working closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure timely and effective outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine eligibility for short and long-term disability, salary continuance benefits, and assess claims
  • Implement interventions to support timely recovery and return to work
  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Lead clients during the absence and return to work period
  • Drive telephone interviews to obtain information and ensure complete understanding of the absence and types of support required
  • Identify and assess medical and non-medical influencing factors, functional capability, restrictions, and limitations

Requirements:

  • All post-secondary degrees are welcomed
  • Bilingualism (French and English, both oral and written) is required to communicate with clients across Canada and worldwide
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to handle complex claims and contracts
  • Proactive and innovative, with a strong ability to communicate and empathize with clients
  • Resilient and able to handle difficult and stressful situations
  • Tech-savvy, with the ability to use multiple platforms and systems
