Job Title: Conveyor Belt Technician

Ammeraal Beltech is seeking a skilled Conveyor Belt Technician to join our team in Mississauga, ON. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, aligning, and maintaining industrial conveyor systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and align industrial conveyor systems, including rollers and guards, using hand and power tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as forklifts and cranes, to position machinery and parts.
  • Inspect and examine conveyor belts to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial conveyor belts and related instruments.
  • Adjust belts and repair or replace defective parts using vulcanization.
  • Operate machine tools, such as grinders, to grind shims, high frequency dies, and conveyor belts.
  • Dismantle and assemble parts of machinery and equipment prior to and post installation.
  • Perform post-installation maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Operate mechanical tools to stretch and align conveyor belts.
  • Clean and align conveyor belts during maintenance of conveyor systems.
  • Perform general belt fabrication, including cutting, lacing, finger splicing, and slitting.
Requirements:
  • Prior mechanical or fabrication experience, preferably in industrial storage/material handling equipment.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend shop orders and working drawings written in English.
  • Must be able to read and interpret measuring devices, such as tape measures and calipers.
  • Ability to complete basic mathematical functions using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and the metric system.
  • Must be able to work in Canada for any employer.
  • Must have a valid G Driver's License.
