Youth Support Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and caring individual to join our team as a Youth Support Worker in La Ronge. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and be able to work independently.
About the FacilityThe Youth Support Program is located in all LLRIB Health Services, Clinics, and is part of the Cultural Program located in La Ronge, Morin's Hill.
Key Responsibilities- Assist children and youth in developing life skills, social skills, and access to community resources.
- Provide individual care and guidance to youth.
- Work with the Prevention & Recovery staff in the communities, with youth, community members, and healthcare professional workers.
- Participate in developing youth planning in each community.
- Assist in organizing a committee in each community and engaging youth to discuss relevant issues and concerns.
- Attend Meetings, case conferences, and trainings as required.
- Grade 12 or combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Experience in facilitating groups, public speaking, presentations, and writing reports.
- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to speak/understand Cree and/or knowledge of Cree culture is an asset.
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
