We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area. As a Canadian leader in infrastructure development, Aecon is building what matters for future generations to thrive.

About the Role

As a Senior Estimator, you will utilize your extensive experience in construction estimating across diverse scopes of work, including civil, structures, track, and stations. You will demonstrate your expertise in design models and integrated digital delivery (IDD) software for precise project scope evaluation and quantity generation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop meticulous bills of quantities (BOQ) by leveraging your experience and employing various advanced techniques, including Bluebeam.
  • Utilize your extensive network and deep knowledge of the industry to obtain competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising on quality.
  • Thoroughly research historical data, such as purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis, benchmarking, and reports, to compile insightful summary reports and establish robust estimating guidelines for the project.
  • Provide valuable insights into the design process, leveraging your vast knowledge to ensure a seamless transition from planning to execution.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including project managers and executives, to deliver accurate and comprehensive estimates that align with project objectives.
Requirements
  • Over 7 years of hands-on experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with a proven track record of successfully estimating projects of significant scale and complexity.
  • A solid educational foundation with a university degree or technical college diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • In-depth understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, and cost control techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in standard Microsoft software (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • A results-oriented mindset with an unwavering commitment to quality and excellence.
