Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join our team at VEP Mechanical Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, fabricating, and repairing sheet metal products in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

Our work site is a dynamic and physically demanding environment where you will be working with various materials, tools, and equipment. You will be required to work at heights, in noisy and dusty conditions, and may be exposed to extreme temperatures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to templates and specifications
  • Grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces to ensure a high-quality finish
  • Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specifications
  • Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers as needed
  • Cut materials using power tools or by hand, and fit and join sheet metal parts
  • Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation
Requirements
  • Sheet Metal Worker Trade Certification
  • Sheet Metal Worker Red Seal Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Ability to work at heights, in noisy and dusty conditions, and in a fast-paced environment
  • Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment
