Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Millwright to join our team at Canfor's Grande Prairie Sawmill. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our mill machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mill machinery and equipment, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, and mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues with mill equipment, using your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Time Management: Effectively manage your time to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and minimize downtime.
  • Equipment Reliability: Implement safe and reliable fixes to maintain equipment reliability and prevent future issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve maintenance goals and ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Red Seal Certification: Hold a valid Red Seal certification as a Millwright.
  • Physical Demands: Be physically capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Urgency: Demonstrate a high degree of urgency and ability to work under pressure.
  • Industry Knowledge: Have knowledge of the lumber or industrial manufacturing process (an asset).
  • Welding Experience: Possess experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability (an asset).
