Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Certified Millwright to join our team at Canfor's Grande Prairie Sawmill. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our mill machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance on mill machinery and equipment, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers, and chains.
  • Inspect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions, and implement safe and reliable fixes to minimize downtime.
  • Work effectively with a high-performance team to maintain equipment and ensure optimal production levels.
  • Assess and prioritize maintenance tasks to ensure timely completion and minimize disruptions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address equipment-related issues.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.

Requirements:

  • Red Seal Certification as a Millwright.
  • Physical ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of lumber or industrial manufacturing processes (an asset).
  • Experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability (an asset).
